Our home is located between Manitowoc and Two Rivers on a quiet, dead end road within the boundaries of Woodland Dunes Nature Preserve. Woodland Dunes is a 1,500 acre preserve with miles of walking/hiking trails. The Wisconsin Ice age Trail runs through the preserve as well. The trails are easily accessed via a short ¼ mile walk from our property. For more information on Woodland Dunes or interactive trail guides check the following site: https://www.woodlanddunes.org/. The trails are closed during the fall deer hunting season. The Mariner’s Trail, along the shores of Lake Michigan, is around 1¼ miles from our property. This paved trail is a beautiful place to run, walk, or bike. For more information on the Mariner’s Trail, check the following site: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/wisconsin/mariners-trail. A few area attractions are: The Rahr-West Museum and Mansion, the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, West of the Lakes Gardens, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, numerous breweries, and more. Lambeau Field (Green Bay Packers Stadium) is 45 min. away and the Badger Carferry is about 20 min. from our property. There is a free public dumping station available just a few miles from us. Free well water is available on our property (It could be hooked up, but is about 50 feet away from the parking area). A 50 amp service is located outside of our workshop. Because of the seasonal wet areas within the dunes, mosquitoes can be an issue. If traveling with another camper, we could accommodate, but only one would be able to hook up to the electricity at a time. If this is desired, please let us know in advance.

Location

Parking is available both in front of the workshop (close to the 50 amp service) or directly across the driveway on a large gravel area. There is plenty of space for a tow vehicle and there is a circle driveway to turn around, but need to be careful for longer RVs to not tear up the grass when wet.

Age:

55-65

My wife and I had been empty nesters for the last 6 years. I recently retired from teaching and my wife is nearing retirement. Our son and his family recently moved in with us. My wife and I both grew up in the area. Since I am an educator, I am typically around home during the summer months. In 2021 we purchased a starter motorhome to see how we would like the RV life. We have been enjoying our road trips and have mostly traveled to see our children and grandkids who live near the boundary waters of Minnesota. We have also been utilizing Harvest Hosts locations to check out midwestern sites. Our property is rather secluded and has a lot of wildlife. The area surrounding our 4 acres is widely known for birdwatching. The soothing waves of Lake Michigan can be heard from both the east and the south of our property since the Manitowoc area juts out into Lake Michigan. We no longer have any pets, but welcome them as long as guests clean up after them.

We were welcomed by the host at his driveway and were offered lots of local information which we found quite helpful. The property is lovely with a number of artistic touches (the metal sculptures are our hosts own creations). Thank you very much for allowing us to stay. We had a comfortable, peaceful evening. By the way the lake front in Manitowoc is gorgeous and within walking distance.

Lovely place to stay rich in history. Paul was a wealth of information on Manitowoc and also very knowledgeable on RVs. As a newbie owner, I was very appreciative of his expertise. I highly recommend Cedar Haven.

Paul and Johnna were excellent in communicating our request/reservation. He was there to meet us on arrival and easily accessible as needed. Very informative and had a lot of written information on nearby attractions/activities.

on our way to the Michigan UP we made a same day request that was approved immediately. Paul welcomed us and made us feel right at home. Parking was in their level gravel driveway with a nice view of the property. We were offered a firepit with firewood and he should us where there was an outlet and water supply. We required neither but what nice to know it was available. Very quiet stay and Paul showed us his ebike after we mentioned we were in the market. We will definately keep Cedar Haven in mind for the future.
