2.5 Acres in the Bitterroot Valley with the best possible view of St. Mary's. It is a very unique and beautiful site that I love to host people on. There is not a continuous water hook-up, which is why I don't list it, but I do have water up here you can use to refill tanks etc. There is a compost toilet outdoors, and an outdoor shower which is very nice in the Summer If you want to use it, there is also a 12x16 cabin with a queen-sized futon bed, a mini fridge, big TV, & a wood stove. Has electric. It is a dry cabin, which means no plumbing. There are refillable water jugs for drinking & hand washing. There is room in the cabin for 4 people (2 on futon 2 on floor). You can also camp anywhere on the property. Suggested Local Attractions:Endless hikes and climbing, skiing in the winter. Lee Metcalf wildlife refuge. Lake Como in Hamilton.

DIYer hosting people at a beautiful spot in the Bitterroot Valley Details: *A quick note for last minute requests- be aware if you send me a request during the week, I may not see it until after work, so around 6. If I do not have someone booked here already, I most likely will be able to host you. Hi! My name is Ed I've been in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana since 2015 when I moved here from South Florida. I work mostly doing construction, with some CAD and drafting. I'm in the middle of a multi-year project where I bought bare land, started camping out, building a cabin and then a house. Cabin is finished (this is where guests stay now), house is in progress but I'm living in it. I have 5 little goats that roam the property but have a fenced area they can stay if you have a dog with you. I have generally left politics and like to host travelers as a way to help people exist and have fun in this world without money. I won't be bothered if you literally just want a cheap place to stay for a few and don't feel like hanging out, just be respectful of the cabin & land. In the busy season people are staying here nearly every week so it helps to keep things clean. I also host through Trustroots, BeWelcome, Couchers, iOverlander . I used to be on CouchSurfing as well. What I do in my free time: I work on the house, take care of my goats and build things for them. I have all sorts of hobbies, lately music, re-learning Spanish, & MMA are the big ones. Travelled to: Canada, Mexico Lived in: United States Home Town: Stevensville, MT Favorite Boondocking Locations: Lost Horse, Hamilton MT Skills or Expertise to Share: Construction, Music, knowledge of local plants, maybe speak some Spanish?

if you’re anywhere near this location, you absolutely have to visit not just for the beautiful, sunrises and sunsets but to talk to this amazing person who’s done some thing absolutely incredible. My dogs and I stayed there for only one night and I wish I could’ve been more. And locations great access to electric is wonderful and getting to meet his wonderful goats was just an extra cherry on top. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

It was a great pleasure and blessing to stay at Eds place. Ed is generous and kind and has built a peaceful sustainable environment for himself and his guests. I will miss the smell of the sage brush waking me up in the morning. Thank you for a wonderful stay Ed, blessings to you. Keep in mind, this listing is best suited for smaller rigs and/or vans.

My dog and I had a blast. Lots of wild life for Kevin to sniff and Ed was amazing to us. We will never forget the time we had there.

Beautiful location at the top of the hill. Amazing view of the valley. The drive on the the dirt road was fine. A bit of washboard, but no potholes. We were happy to have the 15 amp so we could run our AC with 90+ temps. Our host was fun to talk to about his property. We visited the goats and saw several quail, with babies, running through the sage brush. It was quiet. Not a lot of clouds while we were there but the setting sun lit up the ones that were there. Lovely stay.
