Sonny South Farm is a 30 acre horse farm nestled in the foothills of north Georgia's mountains. We are ~10 miles northeast of Athens and the University of Georgia, and we are ~15 miles southeast of I-85 at Commerce. Sonny South offers beautiful views of animals and farmland. It's common to see deer, coyotes, turkeys, possum, raccoons, and birds of prey on the farm. We even have a buffalo herd in a neighboring pasture. It's tranquil and quiet out here. Local Attractions: University of Georgia, Downtown Athens, UGA Botanical Gardens, Georgia Museum of Art, Watson Mill Bridge State Park, Boutier Winery, Soldier of the Sea Distillery Further Afoot: North Georgia Mountains, Lake Hartwell, Ty Cobb Museum, Victoria Bryant State Park

House Rules
Give us an approximate arrival time as soon as you can so we can put you on our calendar. Call us 15 minutes before arriving, and we will meet you at the gate so we can help you navigate to your camping spot. Please respect our solitude: quiet hours are 10pm to 8am. Don't open any gates, and stay clear of animals. Farm animals can seriously, or even fatally, injure humans and other animals. Friendly, well socialized dogs may be off leash, but must be accompanied at all times and should never be allowed to enter the pastures with the farm animals. Children must always be supervised and should not be allowed to explore alone. Farm equipment can be dangerous and hazardous. Stay away from farm equipment. No smoking outside your RV. No drugs. No loud noise.
Location
Access is by dirt road. Campsites are grass. In periods of high rain, the pasture turn arounds may require four wheel drive.

We are a couple from Athens, Georgia. He's retired from law enforcement and now works for an information technology consulting firm. She works in veterinary medicine. We live on a horse farm about 10 miles north of Athens, Georgia. We often load up with our three kids and take them to explore this great country. Our oldest son is a senior at the University of Georgia studying history and contemplating law school. Our daughter is a high school junior that wants to be an author of great novels. Our youngest son is an 8th grader focused on perfecting his baseball and video game prowess. We can't wait to see where the open road leads us....
