House Rules
Give us an approximate arrival time as soon as you can so we can put you on our calendar. Call us 15 minutes before arriving, and we will meet you at the gate so we can help you navigate to a camping spot. Please don't feed the animals. The horses and donkeys are older rescue animals that are prone to choke on apples, carrots, and the like due to their age. Don't open any gates and be cautious around the animals. Farm animals can seriously, or even fatally, injure humans and other animals. Farm equipment can be dangerous and hazardous. Stay far away from the farm equipment. Children must always be supervised and should not be allowed to explore alone. Friendly, well socialized dogs may be off leash, but must be accompanied at all times and should never be allowed to enter the pastures with the farm animals. Please respect our solitude: quiet hours are 10pm to 8am. No smoking outside your RV. No drugs. No loud noise. No generators.

We are a couple from Athens, Georgia. He's retired from law enforcement and now works for an information technology consulting firm. She works in veterinary medicine. We live on a horse farm about 10 miles north of Athens, Georgia. We often load up with our three kids and take them to explore this great country. Our oldest son is a senior at the University of Georgia studying history and contemplating law school. Our daughter is a high school senior that wants to be an author of great novels. Our youngest son is a high school freshman focused on perfecting his baseball and video game prowess. We're also Boondockers Welcome hosts. If you are ever in the Athens, Georgia area looking for a place to overnight, we would love to have you stay at Sonny South Farm. We can't wait to see where the open road leads us....

Sonny South Farm is beautiful. Unfortunately the hosts had a flu of some sort so kept away, though i did get to chat with David and his son, Wyatt. Beautiful location. Wi-fi antennae was down at our spot so David gave us his Starlink to use. Couldnt have asked for better hosts. A must stay!

I stayed in the upper pasture in a 21 foot travel trailer for several days, and it was marvelous. The pasture is sunny and pretty level, and the views of the horses, farm, and rolling hills are delightful. The space is secluded enough that i was able to let my dog off leash to play fetch (with the host’s permission of course). ive stayed at a couple dozen BDW sites, and this is my favorite. -Very, very nice!

I loved my stay at Sonny South Farms. I need a place to stay when I had to evacuate from a hurricane at short notice. Melissa and David welcomed me with open arms. Melissa met me at the gate the morning I arrived. She made sure I had everything I needed. The farm is very peaceful and a nice place to stay when away from home.
