What an adventure I have been on since arriving in Juneau, Alaska 30 years ago, exploring the hundreds of trails, hiking in Glacier Ice Caves, traveling the local seas to see the various marine wildlife, learning about the history of the Capital of Juneau, and the centuries of indigenous ways of life in Alaska. I have a love all animals despite my allergic reactions. I have a travel trailer that is fifteen feet long and I am new to the RV Boon-dockers lifestyle. I look forward to meeting you as you explore the Capital of Alaska. I will be glad to help answer any questions you may have about Southeast Alaska.

We did get a chance to stay here again and everything was as good as the first time. Diane took us on a hike on the Gold Creek Flume Trail leading to Perseverance Trail. It was a great hike with some interesting history to it that we wouldn’t have found without Diane’s knowledge of the area. Speaking of Diane’s knowledge, she has a wealth of it on Alaska, it’s animals and plants and is happy to share it. It was a joy to spend time and talk with her.

What can I say? It was a great stay right from the beginning. Diane met us when we arrived to show us where to park. It was late so she let us be to get set up and some sleep. The next morning there was a small bag on our camper door with brochures on plants and wildlife in Alaska, a great book on “90 Plus Short Walks in Juneau” and some delicious home grown carrots and healthy chocolate. She then sat with us for a little while and suggested an itinerary that would allow us to do the things we wanted to do while beating the crowds from the numerous cruise ships in port that day. As for the parking area, it is paved and relatively flat, just a slight slope to the driveway as usual. The property is only 10 minutes from the ferry terminal, a few miles from the Mendenhall Glacier and a Sani-dump station within a couple miles. Would definitely stay here again given the chance.
