Small hobby farm in the woods, walking trails nearby. Horseshoe pit on site. Details: Gary and I are both retired. We currently only have chickens for fresh eggs and our dog. We enjoy the outdoors and working on our hobby farm. We like going to swap meets and looking at antiques.. We are both from CT and Gary has been in Salem his whole life. We have traveled a bit outside of the country but we are just starting to camp with our RV. We both have adult children nearby. please call or text any info to 860-778-9511 including estimated time of arrival or questions. thanks Home Town: Gary has lived in Salem, CT his whole life. I went to high school a loooong time ago nearby in East Lyme, CT Favorite Boondocking Locations: We haven't started yet but are looking to travel in Maine, Vermont, NY and possibly down south next spring. Skills or Expertise to Share: Gary is an avid hunter. Also, as the farm name suggests he is a car guy and is pretty handy. Michele makes soap and takes care of the chickens and enjoys cards and Mah Jongg. We have also made caramels when we had goats on the property.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Grease Monkey Farm! Our hosts were so welcoming and gracious! Great down to earth, easy going folks! Easy to maneuver our rig in and out. We had two beautiful days of riding around the area which is just awesome. They suggested the Gillette Castle which is a must visit! Thank you Grease Monkey! If we are ever in the area again we will be visiting!

This host is situated in a gorgeous wooded private location and we were given fresh eggs for breakfast! Highly recommended and look forward to staying again in the future.

Great location for a quiet get away, just what the doctor ordered! And to make it even better it was with our BW guests from two years ago! As we drove onto their beautiful property they were there to greet us with big smiles and open arms. Our location for the next several days was very level and easy to turn around. There is much to do within an hour’s travel, and because Grease Monkey is very knowledgeable about the area they could answer our many questions and came up with a list of suggestions. With their help we found interesting things to do in Saybrook, Groton, New London, and Angelo's Bakery in Colchester, then we did our usual, hitting the Mohegan Sun Casino (more of a contribution) and Mystic…pizza anyone? Our long awaited reunion with Greasy monkey was so great, they are our kind of people, down to earth and easy going; they are also so talented, and such fun to hang out with, we talked and laughed for hours. We hope we can make it back someday and/or have them visit us again!

Melt, my golden retriever enjoyed getting out to stretch his legs before dinner and meeting a new Aussie girl friend! We had a good nights sleep prior to leaving for our retriever test in the morning.
