Location
Access Road Conditions: The parking space we offer is beside an uninhabited house on a well packed, fairly level grassy area. The entrance is the original drive into the house. There should always be room to turn around in order to exit down the same drive. When we know you are arriving, we will place bright orange flags marking the best entrance onto the property. Let us know when you are near by and we will direct you in. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is plenty of space for a tow vehicle to be pulled onto the property.

A retired couple Details: My husband and I love to travel, have neat experiences, and meet new people. We have traveled in all states and across Canada. We keep life simple in our small RV. We have been married for 57 years and have camped most of those years. We are healthy and still have lots of plans. At this point we have both had our Covid vaccinations but still wear masks when near others and keep our distance. Home Town: Hickory, North Carolina which is in the Foothills of our beautiful state. We’re about 50 north of Charlotte and about 50 miles down the mountain from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We have been in our home for our entire married life except when traveling in our “house on wheels”. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Natural areas across the country

Bill and Lenora met us at the spot to help us get set up. Spot is a little tight with longer rigs so take it wide on the entry. Spot is very level. Little to no road noise in evening. Lenora emailed us with lots of stuff to donin Florida and places to boondock down there. This will be a great help while we are down there. Thank you Bill and Lenora for the stay.

Our first BW stay was such a great experience. Very sweet hosts who are experienced travelers themselves. They greeted us at the driveway which was clearly marked and easy to find with thier excellent directions. We had a nice visit and then they left us to get settled and put our groceries away. The grassy parking area is well packed and almost perfectly level, easy turned around for early morning exit. Very much enjoyed our stay and the opportunity to meet our hosts.

Even though the hosts were not in town, their notes to me with clear instructions about location and parking made me feel completely comfortable and safe in an unknown location. I would definitely come back.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Our hosts were gracious enough to allow us in on short notice, they were extremely communicative, and struck just the right balance of friendliness and allowing us our privacy. The space to stay is just across the road from their house, with plenty of shaded and sunny spaces depending on what you prefer. We highly recommend staying here.

Lenora and her husband are wonderful hosts. Their communication before arriving was outstanding and they had flags and cones set up to guide us to the right location once we arrived. They explained options for getting into and out of the site, allowing us to choose the best way to get our Airstream into position. They were the perfect hosts for our first Boondockers Welcome stay. We highly recommend them if you will be visiting the Hickory, NC region.
