We have a small acreage on the edge of an unincorporated town S of Ft Dodge, IA. No better place in the U.S. to be in the spring and fall. Winter and summer... not so much. We bought a used RV in Nov 19 and headed s for 3 weeks. Got back just before covid hit. The following winter we were out 5 weeks. We made an upgrade after getting back and didn't even get to use it last winter. In the summer try getting up to SD a few times.

Great stay. Communication beforehand was prompt and informative. Chuck met us when we came, showed us where to park and hook up electric. After we were set up Chuck and I visited for a couple hours. Just a good time overall. We come that way again will be sure to stay.

This was our first stay using Boondockers Welcome and to say that both my husband and I were apprehensive, is putting it mildly! It was a short notice stay and they accepted the request very quickly. Their communication was immediate and thorough. The property was easy to find and convenient to the highway. They had plenty of room to maneuver a 33' TT and large truck in their driveway onto a cement pad. The 50 amp hook up was a much appreciated amenity with the hot temps. They were also kind enough to provide a water hook up and some fresh corn on the cob and cucumbers! Both Chuck and Kim were great and their dogs were very sweet as well! They provided a very good intro to BW and we can only hope that our future stays are as nice!

We enjoyed meeting the Hecks and staying at their piece of heaven. Nice place to stop for utilities and a second day. So glad we found these folks!

On May 24, 2022, I was headed back home after attending a trade show in Wyoming and needed a place to crash for the night. I contacted Hecks Hideout on short notice, and soon after I received a call from Mr. Heck himself. The Hecks were not home; however, they said it would be fine to go ahead and boondock at their home. They gave me directions and also said there was an electrical hookup if I needed it. I had no problem finding their beautiful home, and I parked in their driveway right next to their motorhome on their concrete pad. It was a very safe overnight stay with a lighted drive in a residential neighborhood. Thank you Hecks!
