We are less than a mile from the Lake Michigan shoreline and about two miles north of Lake Macatawa. We live on 1 acre at the end of a dead-end road in an older quiet subdivision next to a 40-acre nature preserve. When the leaves are on the trees our neighbors almost disappear creating our little "hole-in-the-woods". Downtown Holland is about 7 miles away and the Big Red Lighthouse & Holland State Park pier is less than 3 miles away. There is a whole network of paved bike paths in our area that can be accessed from our location. Numerous parks are within a short distance, with beaches, walking trails, soccer fields, disk golf, four square and tennis courts, playgrounds, etc. Note: Typically is about 5 - 10 degrees cooler here by Lake Michigan (or more...depending on the wind) so, plan accordingly 😊. Suggested Local Attractions: I've created a lengthy list of things to do in our area and frequently share it with visitors. Let me know if you are interested.

Feel free to ask about filling your water tank (city water) and/or Firepit usage (weather permitting) we have plenty of free firewood. Dogs must be kept quiet and under control. Please do not allow them to do their business in landscaping or yard. No smoking on the property. We are welcoming you onto our property so, we'd like to know a little bit about those who are staying with us. If it's not already in your profile, could you please include some general details about yourselves, and if known, a rough ETA in your stay request.
Location
Access Road Conditions: We live at the end of a dead-end road. There are two 90 degree corners and no regular turnaround. The maximum rig height is about 12' because our driveway has tree branches that are overhanging... Turning around on our cement driveway is possible with a short motorhome (max 27') or travel trailer (up to 22' long) but you need to be good at backing & maneuvering. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: parking next to rig or in another area on the property.

A quiet couple taking a road less traveled... Details: We work hard and DIY most household/RV projects. We love to learn, bike, walk/hike, meet interesting people, and explore. We enjoy photography, things that bloom, and watching sunsets over Lake Michigan or where ever we happen to be. Home Town: Holland is known for its spring Tulip Festival. The Lake Michigan shore is a very popular summer tourist stop. We live north of town on one acre in a residential community, next to a nature preserve and less than one mile from Lake Michigan shoreline and about 2 miles north of Lake Macatawa. We love it here...although the cold months are not our favorite...beautiful but COLD. There is a whole network of paved bike paths in our area that can be accessed from our location. Numerous parks are within a short distance, with beaches, walking trails, soccer fields, disk golf, four square and tennis courts, playgrounds, etc. I've created a lengthy list of things to do in our area and frequently share it with visitors. Janie and Kal were most welcoming and helpful. Janie graciously helped my wife get the camper perfectly positioned, and provided a wonderful list of recommended attractions. These are very generous people who love travel (and travelers), and have a quiet, lovely property where we enjoyed a very restful night. We would have stayed another night, but my back was acting up and we decided to head home early.
