The camping area is a relatively flat, gravel road on an open lot that is adjacent to the highway. Park anywhere on the gravel. Pull through is possible (turn around is easy), but use extreme caution pulling back onto the highway from the East access point as visibility is limited. NOTE: The house across from the lot IS NOT OURS! There is a creek that runs just beyond the mowed area. The bank to the water is steep but water flow usually very slow. Please watch children and animals closely. Suggested Local Attractions: You are just 7 miles from Jesse James' hometown of Kearney, MO. You are 30 minutes North of downtown Kansas City. Kansas City has the only World War I memorial. Nearby Independence, MO is home to the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library.

We pulled in late and had no trouble. Map pics made it easy. We had dinner in Holt at Walnut Creek winery/brewery. Great little place with terrific craft beer and pizza. We did not try the vino. Minor road noise from secondary PP hwy but no bother. Perfect place for an overnight stay. Larry came by in the morning to chat a bit. Nice fellow.

This was our second time at this spot. It’s the perfect spot for a quick nights sleep one mile just off I-35. Easy access in and out. There is road noise as it sits right on a heavily used county road. Communication was good and gave excellent directions.
