The camping area is a relatively flat, gravel road on an open lot that is adjacent to the highway. Park anywhere on the gravel. Pull through is possible (turn around is easy), but use extreme caution pulling back onto the highway from the East access point as visibility is limited. NOTE: The house across from the lot IS NOT OURS! There is a creek that runs just beyond the mowed area. The bank to the water is steep but water flow usually very slow. Please watch children and animals closely. Suggested Local Attractions: You are just 7 miles from Jesse James' hometown of Kearney, MO. You are 30 minutes North of downtown Kansas City. Kansas City has the only World War I memorial. Nearby Independence, MO is home to the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library.

It’s not as tricky to get in and out as noted. nice communication from hosts. The traffic is a real thing, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. grateful for the stop. thank you!

Great spot to spend the night while travelling. Close to the freeway, and easy to find. Mostly level, so you won't roll out of bed during the night. I would/should rate this higher, but I don't like the exit back onto the highway. Cannot see far enough to be positive there might be a vehicle coming. It is not by any means unsafe. I just like to see far down the road before I pull out. Yes, I would go back there! Pull close to the woods. It will help with the traffic sound, which lessens as the evening progresses. Hats off to the owners for providing a great overnight rest spot.

Spent 2 restful nights parked on this spacious lot. The traffic calms right down at night and all we heard were the lovely crickets and frogs in the adjacent creek. Got lots of errands done locally too.
