We have an acreage aproximately 13km northeast of Rocky Mountain House AB. There is plenty of room for 4 or more RV's of all sizes. It is mostly grass in our back yard which has a gentle slope to it. The driveway through the yard has a gravel base so is fairly flat and firm in wet weather. There is not really a pull through but there is lots of room to turn around. We can supply some electricity but depending on where you park, longer extension cords may be required. Although we have well water available, we recommend you fill up with town water which has been chlorinated. There is also a fire pit in the yard that you are welcome to use. Suggested Local Attractions:There is a 9 hole golf course within 1/2 mile. The Rocky Mountains are 1 hour to the west, and an entrance to Banff/Jasper National Park system about a half hour past that. There are lots of outdoor adventures to the west of Rocky Mountain House, hiking, fishing, canoeing, ATV trails and open camping areas (boondocking) to name a few. A National Historic Site is minutes from town, a rodeo in june and chuckwagon races in August.

Middle aged couple, officialy retired as of December 2013. (Whoopee!) Like to meet new people and compare travel experiences. Details: My wife Shelley and myself (Darcy) have been retired since 2013. (freedom 55!) Shelley keeps busy working with the Metis Local, and is quite active with the display at the Rocky Mountain House Heritage site. My main interest is various aspects of Amateur Radio. We both enjoy camping, exploring the back country on our ATV, jet boating and maintaining our acreage (sort of). We have two daughters in the local area and one son, daughter in law, and only grandchild who live in Germany. Home Town: Darcy's hometown is Creston BC. Shelley's hometown is Oxbow SK. We met while I was in the Canadian Navy and she was in the Canadian Naval Reserve. We settled in Rocky Mountain House AB shortly after I retired from the Navy in 1998. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Any place warm in the winter. The local areas known as the "West Country" provide summer time boondocking, ATV'ing and all sorts of outdoor adventures within 1/2 hour of home. Travelled the Baja in January 2014 and loved it. We enjoyed trips to the Yukon in 2015 and 2016 jetboating from Whitehorse to Dawson City. (boat boondocking??) Skills or Expertise to Share: Good with computers and electronics, licensed ham radio operator (VE6DDD). Can do some mechanical repairs and have a good selection of tools in the garage.

Our first stay at Boondockers Welcome was a great experience! A lovely quiet country setting. Darcy and Shelley makes their home us very welcoming. Darcy greeted us … showed us to our park and wished us good travels when we departed. We couldnt have asked for more.

Great site with level ground and very well maintained area. Host were very friendly, spent both evenings sitting around the campfire chatting for hours. Would highly recommend a stay here, but only if it dosen't preclude me from getting a spot next time I'm up that way.
