Welcome to Fox Shine Meadows! As a Boondockers Welcome Host we are excited to host members on their short one night stays while travelling from point A to point B. We have created a level graveled camping pad on our 4 acres next to our barn. Our homestead includes our outdoor cat Louie, laying hens and our rooster Rufio! We also have a small family dog named Ruger. In the early morning and late evenings several deer, rabbits, and other wildlife like to visit our property. There is also a red fox den nearby and the red foxes frequent the property. We have a really nice fire pit patio with 4-6 Adirondack chairs available if you would like to have a camp fire. We also have well seasoned firewood available for purchase. There is a well-lit playground for the kids to enjoy. We are pet friendly, but require your pet to be on a leash. We can accommodate multiple night stays upon request for an additional fee. Water and electric hookups are available. Water hookup is free, however electric is $15. There is guest high speed internet on the property. We are 7 minutes off of HWY 161 and 30 minutes off 71. In our small town Alexandria we have a great local coffee shop (Ragamuffins Coffee), BBQ (Dirty Dawgs), Gas Station with bar (Hawks Nest Pub) as well as Johnstons LakeHouse Pizza that delivers.

Hello, we are the Thompson family! Myself (Josh) and my wife Kaylan and I have two young children, Paysen (she is 9 years old) and Marek (he is 7 years old). We also travel with our small shih-tzu, Ruger. We love exploring and traveling as a family as much as possible. Our homebase is in Ohio where we grew up. We love everything outdoors - fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, hiking, gardening, swimming, etc) We are non-smokers but do like an occasional drink (we like trying local beer and wine).

Amazing hosts! Josh and Kaylon were very welcoming and we enjoyed our evening of talking over the fire while the kids were playing. Our kids wanted to stay another night. Great location and easy access. would recommend if you are ever in the area to stop in and meet Josh and Kaylon. You won’t regret it!

Communication with Josh was excellent! He sent directions, with a map, explaining how we shoukd pull into our spot. Because of a storm along our route, we ended cancelling our stay. Josh was so helpful and understanding, we will definitely consider staying at Fox Shine Meadows if we're ever traveling through that area in the future!

We enjoyed the chickens being our alarm clock at Fox Shine Meadows. The neighbors birds were joining in also.
