This spot is on a paved road that is pretty busy during the day but quiets down some in the evening and overnight. Our spot can accommodate big rigs up to 45 feet long but is not pull through. The spot is all paved with a slight grade for water run off. Use of leveling jacks are no problem if desired. Please see “House rules” for more important information regarding staying with us. Suggested Local Attractions:Centrally located to 7 lighthouses, 3 Dark Sky Preserve parks; boasting more than 1,000 miles of shoreline, 100+ miles of groomed trails, more than 2 dozen parks, 43,000 acres of State forest land, more than 300,000 acres of open water, and home to the nation’s only freshwater marine sanctuary protecting nearly 200 shipwrecks in Lake Huron. Alpena is unique, unexpected, and serene. I'd recommend checking out the website for current and up to date information. - https://www.visitalpena.com/

We are an older couple traversing the country part time with our Pup’s. Been married for over 40 years and started RVing in 2010. We have 3 adult children and 8 grandchildren so spend time traveling back and forth between the northern part of Michigan and southwest Florida. We've also enjoyed traveling east and west from the Maritime Provinces of Canada to the western shores of Washington State. We enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories and telling our own if the opportunity presents itself in a serendipitous way. Home Town: Alpena is a delightful port city of about 10,000 people. If you like to visit museums then the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center or Besser Museum might be of interest. For more on the area try visiting the Alpena Chamber of Commerce website where the list many interesting opportunity's to visit. http://www.alpenachamber.com/area-information/culture- Favorite Boondocking Locations: We’ve experienced many favorites and the majority of those have been the results of meeting fabulous Host. Thank you to all the Host who make this sharing arrangement possible! Skills or Expertise to Share: If I can lend a handle to any task and have the time, would be happy to help. Feel free to ask.

Just a place to rest was great! The Hosts welcomed us and assisted in getting our unit in place in a very private location behind their barn which did get us away from the highway noise! Wonderfully behaved dogs were no issue and wide open space behind us was great as the sun rose every day. Definitely would stay again and would recommend these hosts and location! Thank You!

Very accomodating, 30amp service, water, paved large parking spot. Friendly host. Close to the city. If you are sensitive to noise the road has a good amount of traffic and can be loud but I put a fan on and it was fine. Otherwise excellent and wonderful hosts.

Kip and Vicki were great hosts. Kip met us upon arrival and had the electric ready. We have a small travel trailer which was easy to maneuver in the large parking lot. Everything was as stated in the HH profile/details. We enjoyed sharing travel stories with them and appreciate the wonderful hospitality. Thank you!!

Kip and Vickie were wonderful and we enjoyed talking with them. It was a little noisy with the highway traffic, but we put on some light music and it was fine. We really felt at home.
