🔥PLEASE READ!!🔥 My availability calendar is kept current and my site is available depending on the weather and bug conditions up here. If the calendar shows no availability, the site not available . Period. Located in the Upper Peninsula's Hiawatha Forest. Dark skies and quiet nights. Private area which is gated, gravel pad, picnic table with umbrella, pitcher pump for water, and fire pit, where you can safely leave your rig for day trips. No electric or water hook-ups. Firewood is available. Plenty of blowdown kindling laying around, help yourselves! Many activities here in the UP! Check out exploringthenorth.com to see all the possibilities! You will be visiting the Northwoods where bugs can be a nuisance depending on the weather, so please come prepared. There always seems to be that one pesky, carnivorous horsefly that wants to be your best bud. I have found Repel Lemon Eucalyptus spray to be most effective up here. Best advice I can give is to saturate baseball cap, especially under the brim and wear it when you’re out. Those suckers HATE that stuff! They also LOVE vehicle exhaust; you may want to have a can of Yard Guard or something similar on hand. CELL SERVICE: I have Verizon as my cell provider, and get reasonable coverage at my host site. It can vary though, so please be aware you may have no coverage at times. ATT and Sprint service is almost non-existent at the site. For some reason, texts sent with these providers will usually go through, although sometimes they are delayed. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: I WILL NOT ACCEPT A REQUEST IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A FULLY SELF-CONTAINED RV OR AN INCOMPLETE PROFILE WITHOUT A WAY TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF. If you are not able to perform ALL your functions inside your RV, this is not the place for you. Using your outside kitchen if equipped is acceptable, but NOT outside toilet facilities. Get in touch with me the day before arriving to let me know if you will be a morning, afternoon, or evening arrival. The day of departure, kindly let me know when you head out. If you are day tripping on your departure day, please pull your trailer off the camper pad so new arrivals are able to come in. It is rare that I have guests arrive before noon, but when at all possible please try to time your departure no later than 2 PM. Please keep children and pets under strict supervision. There is a pitcher pump for water at this site. Please help yourselves! The bucket needs to remain over the pump to keep debris out. PLEASE be sure campfires are drenched before retiring and leaving site. Please do not transport wood across state lines. I can provide campfire wood if you are willing to help load it; I have 2 metal hips that aren't 100% cooperative when I need them sometimes. Any unused wood needs to be stacked back under the little awning and not left laying about so I can keep the campsite mowed. Any trash MUST be picked up and taken out upon completion of stay. I do not have access to a regular disposal service where I live. Pack it in, pack it out. NO SHOOTING OR FIREWORKS! General inquiries regarding the offered amenities are welcome, but any messages, requesting dates that do not show availability WILL NOT be acknowledged. My calendar is constantly being updated and kept current. Thank you!
Location
Access Road Conditions: Access is 3 miles on a level, (usually dusty), winding, gravel road. Usually in good shape, but after heavy rains can get soft in some stretches. There are low-hanging branches that are easily avoided. Most days I only see 3 cars all day, so just take it slow and hug your side of the road on the curves. There is limited turn around room during wet weather. There is room to back in through a 24 foot wide gate opening. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Next to rig

Off-Grid Happy Hermit Details: Someone who enjoys the natural beauty of the woods and the simple things in life. Strong coffee, a good book, a wood burning stove, and the company of dogs are all I need to be content. Occasional conversation is welcome, as I never cease to enjoy learning about the ways other people enjoy their lives. Home Town: Upper Peninsula, Michigan

I can’t say enough good things about this campsite. Tracy is an excellent host communicated very well. The campsite access was easy! The site was flat, beautiful, immaculate and the surrounding forest stellar fire pit and nostalgic hand pump well was just perfect. Five star communication and stay with many interesting things to do nearby. I highly recommend a quick trip to Kitch-iti-kipi (Big Spring) and for the beer lover the Upper Hand brewery in Escanaba for a few things to do. Couldn’t have gone better hopefully I will roll through here again next year. Huge thank you to Tracy, a perfect host!

Tracy was a wonderful host in so many ways. This site was just what we wanted, quiet and away from everything. Bugs weren't as bad as I feared they might be, but come prepared.

Tracy's place was amazing! Great home base to explore much of the UP. Our dogs had a play date and she gave us lots of ideas on places to check out. Hope to find ourselves back that way to visit again!

Absolutely loved this place. Kozy Korner is right. It was Perfect to let our dogs play, level lot with thick rubber pad for patio. Table and water pump Huge fire pit lots of seating area. Almost zero traffic, quiet as a church mouse. The host was very welcoming, helped me find my way there. Had a great visit and coffee with her. Her place is definitely a place to spend a free day or 2 just camping there plus so many other things to do in the area. Thanks so much to Kozy Korner wish we had stayed longer. Would most definitely stay here again. The Scotts
