Californians turned Carolinians. We were full-timers for ~3 years traveling (and eating) around the US. Now Kinston is our home base for exploring the East Coast. We're city folk living in the country with new found hobbies like gardening, raising chickens and remodeling. Looking to make use of our space and create a quiet, safe place to stop for our fellow travelers. Our hobbies include camping/glamping, any mountain activity (hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking) and discovering food spots.

We had a wonderful stay at La Granja! The host is great at communicating and providing updates. We have a long trailer and tow vehicle and the turn into the property required some careful calculation, but smaller trailers should be fine, as well as all RV sizes. Once on the property, there is plenty of room to move about and several large level areas to choose from. We use solar panels for power, but it was nice to have a power option available for the cloudy/rainy days. The property is adjacent to a working farm, and we saw the neighbor out working the field most days. The hosts are very accommodating and welcoming. We had time in our evenings to sit and chat with the host and hear about his vision for creating a place for travelers to come and rest, and saw his numerous projects all to make a better place for visitors. Anyone with a passion for home improvement projects will find plenty to do here to expand the property amenities for other travelers. We made time in our visit to check out a local museum, nature preserve, and restaurant in the Kinston area. The city is rich with history, and there are many other sites in the surrounding areas with a little extra driving. We definitely would return to this harvest host site again to enjoy the area or just help out with projects.

We had a great stay at La Granja. The host is very flexible when it comes to parking. It was 80 degrees, but we had our tailgate down and had a perfect breeze. We loved the view. The host has great communication.

Serenly quiet and still, located on a small farm not too far from a small town with plenty of conveniences. Directions are spot on, and there is so many parking spots to choose from! Our host were friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them, and one of the first things we were told is they wouldnt approach unless we invited them, just in case we didnt like chatting/company. Truly a gracious host. We would definitely stay again if we were traveling through this area!
