Californians turned Carolinians. We were full-timers for ~3 years traveling (and eating) around the US. Now Kinston is our home base for exploring the East Coast. We're city folk living in the country with new found hobbies like gardening, raising chickens and remodeling. Looking to make use of our space and create a quiet, safe place to stop for our fellow travelers. Our hobbies include camping/glamping, any mountain activity (hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking) and discovering food spots.

We arrived in a severe thunderstorm and were able to easily get situated and set-up. We parked behind the carport/shed for spectacular views. Used our generator. Kinston is a cute little town. Great coffeeshop, diner and some restaurants and a brewery. We went to the tiny science museum and nature preserve. There is a kayak put in on the Neuse. We had a travel soccer game nearby and would definitely stay again next time we are over this way. Thanks for allowing us to stay.

We with get a chance to actually meet with the hosts, but they were really nice through text, even after i accidentally parked in the wrong spot at first haha. We saw wild turkeys and deer running behind our bus during the day and the nights were beautiful and quiet. They live just a few minutes from downtown. Great place and great people.

The host was very accommodating to what ever our needs were. Had a great time chatting with him and giving him some plumbing advice.
