what a wonderful first experience. Elisa is so sweet and communicated with me the whole way even when there was a bad storm nearby. She had a welcome bag for me and her husband gave me a tour of the farm and let me get up in a big tractor. was a very safe comfortable place to stay. i would highly recommend.

Experiences like this is why we joined! Elisa called us early in the day to find out our arrival time and warn us of windy conditions. She met us at the driveway with a welcome bag of goodies (including pinto beans from a recent harvest) and a warm greeting for our Great Dane Wesley, who took a liking to her! Dale led us to a flat grassy area next to the barn with freshwater and 50 amp hook ups if we wanted to use them (which we didn’t because we have solar and didn’t want to be too much of a burden). Then around 6 PM, Dale came by and took us on a grand tour of the whole operation. His nephew Nate was running a large tractor planting multiple rows of corn and offered to give both my wife and I a ride and show us modern farming. This is not Green Acres! Using computers and GPS they were able to efficiently plant multiple rows of corn at a rather steady pace. Nate and Dale patiently answered all of our questions, even though some may have been ignorant he didn’t treat them that way. Everyone should understand where their food comes from and the tremendous work it takes for a handful of men to successfully farm thousands of acres. The night was peaceful. The stay was wonderful and we were invited back for harvest to see the fruits of the labors of today. I hope we’re in the area again so we can take them up on their offer. What wonderful people! What a wonderful experience discovering these tremendous pieces of America! This why I am a Harvest host and Boondockers Welcome member!

We arrived near sundown, but still had some light to learn quite a bit about farming from Dale. Elisa was very sweet and gave us a thoughtful giftbag. We had a restful nights sleep and woke to a glorious sunrise before getting on our way. We couldn’t recommend staying here more.

We had a wonderful time here, and we feel so grateful to have met Dale and Elysa. They are so welcoming, warming and generous persons. They've taken their time to show us the farm, how they work, and all the passion they put into everything. The miniature cows from their neighboors are so adorable :) Thanks again for everything, and hope to meet you again on the road !

We loved our stay at Large's farm. We had so much fun helping round up the mother and baby cows from the fields. We really enjoyed learning about agricultural farming too. The hosts were fantastic, made sure you have everything you need. Flat, easily accessible spot to set up. Highly recommend this Boondocker.
