Leon Springs Layover
This is a Boondockers Welcome host in San Antonio, TX

Stay at my curb in a residential neighborhood on the outskirts of NW San Antonio. Convenient location less than 1mi from Interstate-10. Stock up at WalMart, HEB grocery & more all within 1mi. Tree-filled neighborhood park 1block away has playscape for the kids & fenced dog park. No hookups or generator use, full sun - so a summer stay in Texas heat is not recommended. Spring, fall & winter are generally great. I'm a lifelong resident of this area, with plenty of suggestions of where to go/what to see in both San Antonio & the Hill Country.

Since 2012, I've been RVing with a camping group. But I've been wandering for much longer than that. If I'm boondocking with you, chances are I'm on my way to/from a group campout with friends. Non smoker. Love animals. Happily retired after 36yrs working as an educator.

The stay at Leon Springs was perfect for me. I didn’t meet the owner but the communication was excellent - she was prompt and informative, and I’m grateful that she accepts same day requests. My stay was an overnight on my way to Arizona from Florida, so being right off the 10 was perfect. The parking spot in front of the owner’s house was perfect for my high-roof, 20 foot van; I appreciate the photos the owner posted that showed the exact parking spot. Other reviewers wrote about the noise - the 10, street noise, airplanes. I heard the hum of the 10 (there, but pretty faint) but no airplane and very little street noise. I hope that I can stay again if I’m ever in the area.

Spot is on quiet street. Great location to see the area. Never had the opportunity to meet host but the communication was excellent. Would stay again if opportunity arises.

The host was very prompt in responding to our request for a stay. The instructions were easy to follow and the neighborhood was very pleasant for a peaceful nights rest. Sadly, we arrived too late to meet our host and had to get going before having the chance in the morning but we do hope to stop by another time in our travels.

Stayed with Cathy in front of her house. Make sure you read her discription of her parking spot for the night! We parked and stayed in fromt of her house in suburban San Antonio. She lives in a quiet neighborhood, so like the discription says, it is street parking. Cathy was very accommodating, and lovely. Just be aware it is street parking and in a neighborhoor, so cars do go by, but calms down at night. Also, be aware that there is quite a bit of aircraft that flies overhead as they approach the San Antonio airport, but like the cars driving by on the street, they also calm down at night. Cathy’s place is a great stay for an overnight before you venture in to see the Alamo, or River Walk in downtown San Antonio. W e would definitely stay with her again when if we come back!

Our hostess was very hospitable, meeting with us when we arrived and offering to let us put something on the grill. Communication was easy and our hostess was responsive. She made suggestions about what to do locally. The street in this nice neighborhood was wide and flat. And even though the house is close to a Walmart, HEB and an interstate, our stay was very quiet. We definitely recommend this layover.
