Traveling homeschoolers Details: I took a year leave of absence from my professional job in Minnesota, and my wife left her teaching position to travel the country for a year and homeschool our children. This has been my wife’s dream for over a decade. Home Town: We sold our house in Marshall MN in June 2019, and left our friends and family to experience and explore the USA while we learn all about our great country. We will return to Minnesota in June 2020. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Virgin Valley on the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge in Northern Nevada. Gebo Wyoming, a ghost town on BLM land. Badger Canyon near Lee’s Ferry, Marble Canyon AZ Skills or Expertise to Share: I’m a “helper”. If someone needs help, I’m typically ready to jump in. As a jack of all trades, I’m capable in almost everything from construction or maintaining vehicles to more intellectual aspects. My wife, the elementary teacher, is great with kids. She loves figuring out how to organize and make life efficient. We both enjoy helping people develop financial well-being through budgeting and planning.

We had a great stay at Lilac Ln. Lucas and his daughter were awesome hosts! Lucas cooked on the grill for us and his daughter was such a sweet girl to chat with! Awesome evening, awesome conversation. We would definitely recommend Lilac Ln to travelers!

What a fabulous host! He went over and above to make us welcome. We were greeted and told about his set up. Fairly level gravel area with water and electric available. Very close to town, bikeable. By the time we left and all the conversations, we felt like we made a good friend. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for an awesome stay!

Lucas and his wife greeted me upon my arrival at Lilac Lane. I stayed for two nights, but did not get the opportunity to spend time with his family because I was catching up on work. They were very kind. If you need electricity, hot water or regular water, they have it for you.
