Welcome to our little piece of paradise on a small tranquil lake. 20 minutes from Port Hawkesbury (get your supplies there) and the gateway to Cape Breton Island what many consider is one of the most beautiful island in the world. Please look for our 115 Lucas Lane address as you GPS may take you past our driveway :) We are located just down the road from the Friends United Centre which showcases indigenous art from around the world. A must see, but sometimes the gallery may not be open due to artist workshops and large private tours. Prints are also available to purchase to support the indigenous community, if the print has a green dot next to the artist info then it is available to purchase a print. If need be you are welcome to extend your stay. :) FYi... if you are planning a trip around the Cabot trail remember that most of the viewpoints are on the water side so it is best to go around the trail counter clockwise. Please check out our YouTube/Facebook channel & travels at "Boon-docking with dogs" Cheers :)

Location

We are about 1 km down a dirt road with long winding driveway, possible to turn around a small trailer.... It is not totally level parking but i do have some levelling blocks available for your use. There is a bit of a steep hill to go up but not too bad. Best bet if you have a long trailer is to back up our driveway.

We love to be on the road traveling with our "fur children" Details: We are kayakers and our "fur children" Lacie & Bella also love the water and being with us on the kayak as much as they can. We really enjoy listening to others and hearing of their travel destinations around a campfire and the stars above. We have a truck camper with the essentials to go off grid and find secluded locations where the stars shine bright and the water flows clear. Please let us know of your favourite out of the way locations to boondocks. We have a Facebook & Youtube page called "Boondocking with dogs", please check us out there and subscribe. We a have just started on Instagram (Lacieswaggs) but are still figuring it out. Cheers to all..... xoxo Brian & Linda....... Bella & Lacie too! Home Town: Kempt Road NS Favorite Boondocking Locations: Lighthouses and secluded beaches Cheers...... :) Skills or Expertise to Share: Artist in sand & woodworking and Acrylic mediums... I am a retired wedding photographer (300 + weddings) and sports team photographer. Linda is a retired Quality Control Supervisor as well as an occasional cottage house keeper. We are venturing into acrylic pouring and are now offering some or our art works for sale or just for your viewing pleasure. Visit Cape Breton and you may never want to leave..... true story! :)

Brian met us on arrival and helped us level. Nice short walk down to the lake. Very peaceful location, thank you. At Brian's suggestion we stopped at Friends United on our way out. We were blown away at the collection of artwork and the story behind the collection. Entry is usually by appointment only so we were very thankful to be able to view. Thank you Brian and Linda for your time and hospitality.

Thank you Brian and Linda for your hospitality and a lovely quiet peaceful stay. Thanks too for the recommendation to stop at the Indigenous Art Galley, absolutely stunning, both the art and the stories behind the art.
