CAUTION: A truck/TV and trailer with an OAL more than 50' may be an issue. Single units (MH-TC) up to 32' can turn around in the barn lot, but towed units (5er-TT) over 26' cannot be turned. I can put you in the north drive for two days only, but you will have to back out onto the county road. There is very limited service on the north drive. We are looking at ways to have electric available on the north drive. Please know the Over-All length as you travel on the road. This is absolutely critical to my being able to accommodate you. At this time, I can only supply one guest with 15A AC. Be aware that we are close to Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and aircraft noise is common, most find it no issue. The situation is highly variable. This is really the back lot of our residence. The drive in is not straight. A 30+ coach can be turned around, but it isn't easy there. If you venture on to the lawn areas, lawn will be damaged and you may get stuck there. Smaller have no trouble. The lot is gravel and so jacks are no problem if it is dry. A TV and TT, might be an issue, I have turned 20+ trailers on it, but not with my TV. The friendly neighbor that owned a tractor has moved so caution must be used. Water is usually available (turned off below freezing), limited electric, but more and other things need to be discussed at the time as this can vary based on my requirements. The back ten acres is untended wood lot. If you choose to go back there, it is available. The trails have grown over, so you are on your own as far as navigation out there. Suggested Local Attractions:As said above, we are in striking range of Henry Ford Museum - Greenfield Village (HFGV), and the Yankee Air Museum. If you need to wait for a connection at DTW, we are close to that too. If you are planning to go to HFGV, read about it online first. The museum itself will burn a whole day if you are faster than most. The Village is a lot of walking and the same. Ask for at least 2 Days!! We are also near the Metro parks with 2 water parks and miles of hike & bike trails. If interested metroparks.com should get you information.

Location
Access Road Conditions: All local roads are paved and full width. Please read about approach and contact if you have questions. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Tow vehicles will have to come in ahead unless you are a real master and maneuvering a trailer. If the rig is too long, we can leave you in our north drive. Read On. A towed should be separated and rehitched in the straight part of the north drive. The lawn is soft toward the house. If you wheels go up on the rise of the lawn, you will probably get stuck and I will not be able to help you get free. Not to mention that a guest didn't read this and now there are ruts and grass missing where he turned. I may not be able to keep this area marked off.

We do as much traveling as we can and enjoy meeting new people. Special Note: Texting is unreliable - but e-mail goes to my phone. A long traveling couple that now has a classic (antique?) motorhome that loves going new places and meeting other people. We a parking spaces in the back of our large lot. We have done the Walmart circuit and have grown tired of the uncertainly. Home Town: Our mailing address is Belleville, MI. Where we live bears little relation to our mailing address. If you are looking at a map, look for New Boston. We are in easy striking range of both Detroit Metro Airport and the Henry Ford Museum complex. Though not far from the I-94 and I-275 interchange, you must contact us for approach instructions as this is not simple. Ring the home phone first. 734-753-5054 Please Leave a message. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We will be in our 18th season with this coach, and we rarely go the same place twice. We have been ONP in a snowmobiler's lot in Paradise, MI and in a COE clearing along the Sturgeon Bar Canal. If they are available, our first choice is often a Cabela's and now we maybe look at Bass Pro. As we are travelers and not campers, where we are going is anybody's bet. Skills or Expertise to Share: Matthew is an effective technician, must be to keep the 50 yo Motorhome reliable.

Matt was very accommodating, showed exactly where to park then brought the 15a plug out for me. Just know to enter through the proper driveway (unlike me) where the reflectors are. Thanks for the spot for the night, closest to the VA.

My wife and I needed to be in Detroit for the week for work. We just weren’t finding any kind of parking close enough for our 5th wheel. Matt’s Barn saved our bacon. Courteous and generous hosts, an ample drive for longer rigs or shorter stays as well as the gravel parking back by the barn itself. We were there for 5 days and it felt safe and comfortable. Like visiting old friends. The drive is easy to miss in the dark, so go slow when you get close and turn wide!

Matt was a gracious host. As the only rig on site, I took advantage of the offered 15 amp service. The space was peaceful and I saw my first snow 😉 His two dogs were fun to watch playing with each other. We may meet again, an experience I look forward to enjoying.

Matt was stellar at communicating promptly and thoroughly. He provided impeccable directions to his location. We parked our trailer on his property while we were away for a few days. We sincerely appreciated his willingness to accommodate us. We enjoyed meeting him. Thanks, Matt.
