We are in a quiet residential neighborhood, just on the edge of the Halifax peninsula. We are close to the NW Arm (the body of water that runs along the west side of the Halifax peninsula and into the harbour). There is a shopping center, local bus terminal and a Walmart just a few minutes away, and the exit to the highway is ~ 1 KM (0.6 miles) from our house. Downtown Halifax is a 10 - 15 minute drive. Our driveway is 30' long, concrete slab, and relatively flat. I recently trimmed some of the trees so they should not be an issue. We can park our RV (10' high) there with no problems. We do not notice it anymore, but we are relatively close to a train track. A few trains per day still use that track and occasionally there will be one or two at night. Suggested Local Attractions: Lots to see and do in Halifax, and NS. We can offer lots of suggestions to our guests depending on what types of things they like.

Retired couple that just started RVing. Details: My wife and I are both retired. We have always loved to travel and now that the kids are gone we have been travelling to lots of places in Europe and North America. We like to bike and hike. We bought our first motorhome in the summer of 2018, and did a lot of short trips around Nova Scotia to get the kinks out. In the winter of 2019 we had our first long trip, visiting the US SW for 3 months. Mostly Canadian trips since then including a fantastic month in Nfld in 2022. Looking forward to future adventures. Home Town: Lifelong natives of Nova Scotia. We have lived in Halifax most of our lives. Favorite Boondocking Locations: No favorites, but we have found some really nice locations in our own province that we can share with other travelers. Skills or Expertise to Share: I am a jack of some trades, but master of none. I do have quite a few tools that I'm willing to share if needed.

Another great Boondocker Welcome site. We walked down to the water, found a little restaurant for dinner. Lovely Hosts, good communication. They went out of their way to accommodate us.

Halifax was full of friendly, helpful people, and these hosts were no exception. The driveway right in town was quiet and easy to access. They suggested seeing the public garden, which was awesome, and also the nice nearby park: Dingle Tower and Fleming Park. A bonus at this stay was the nearby bus terminal to get down to the beautiful wharf area. Thanks for hosting!

We first met Doug and Nancy in a lovely scenic free campsite in Newfoundland this summer. When we found out they were Boondockers Welcome Hosts, it was a total no-brainer to plan a stay with them. Had a lovely evening sharing stories about their travels and ours. Slept soundly and never heard the "phantom trains" which rarely run at night!
