Located in S. E. lower Michigan in the country on 5 acres with lots of trees, our guest site offers reasonable privacy and shade for much of the day. The neighborhood is generally quiet, but we do have neighbors with dogs that sometimes bark. The last 3/4 mile to our house is a private, dead-end road that was rebuilt as a proper gravel (crushed limestone) in June 15th, 2021. The shoulders have been cleared of brush and trees, and overhanging branches trimmed up 30 feet. The road still has potholes, however, and 10 MPH is a good maximum speed. The guest site is a pull through gravel driveway with an 11' x 40' flat/level parking area that will easily accommodate a 45 foot RV with a totter or toad. It requires a sharp right, followed by a sharp left turn to get in, but none of our guests (so far) have had a turning radius problem with this. The guest site has "50/30 Amp" RV electrical hookup with breakers. Fresh water is available, but not at the guest site, so it requires a long hose run or temporary alternate positioning, which might not be possible due to our own RVs being in the way. We do not have a way for guests to dump waste water. The guest site has tall trees along the south edge which provide nice shade but will probably prevent satellite TV reception. If our guest site is occupied we might be able to accommodate additional RVs, but not on flat/level ground or with access to RV electric hookups, although 15A might be possible. Message us if needed to inquire about this. Wi-Fi is available on our rear deck, but is not guaranteed usable at the guest site. We do not request, and WE DO NOT ACCEPT, DONATIONS of any kind. If you stay here, you stay as our guest. Suggested Local Attractions: There is a lot to do in southeast and south-central Michigan depending on your interests. It would be best to research this before arriving. Feel free to message us if you have specific questions.

House Rules
We are not smokers and would prefer that people not smoke, but it’s OK as long as it’s not near our house and cigarette butts do not end up on the ground. It's a quiet neighborhood after dark. Generators are fine but no outside entertainment or other loud noises that might disturb our neighbors. Pets are welcome and dogs are welcome to be off-leash IF they are trained and obedient as the property is not fenced, and we do NOT want portable fencing put up. We expect people to pick up after their dogs, of course. Also, we have a LOT of wildlife that visits our property and do not want it harassed or your pet to have a bad encounter. Pets may not be left outside if/when you leave to shop or sightsee as we have coyotes, foxes, and large raptors in the area, and barking dogs would be a problem. We prefer that guests arrive during daylight hours and that we are home to greet them and help get them get parked, but we will provide detailed enough directions that guests can arrive and get parked without our assistance if needed. We do not have departure time requirements unless we have another guest arriving the same day you are leaving. Adult beverages in moderation. Please do not hesitate to contact if you have questions about any of our house rules.
Location
Access Road Conditions: We are 4 to 12 miles from four major highway exits. All routes are paved except the last 3/4 mile which is a private dead-end gravel road. There are two 90 degree turns, but they are broad sweeps that can handle any rig. The road was recently rebuilt (crushed limestone) and the shoulders cleared of brush, trees, and overhanging limbs, so there are no barriers to access for any size RV. Our guest site is a pull through that will accommodate any size/type of rig/combination. Large motorhomes towing a car/trailer might want to unhook the toad before entering the site. Exit our neighborhood the same way you came in. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: On site, in front or behind rig or elsewhere on property if needed.

Retired extended-time RVers with a home base in the country but not far from civilization. Details: A retired educational consultant and retired C.P.A., we are extended-time RVers. We tend to be snowbirds, but not exclusively. Besides Boondockers Welcome we are members of Havest Hosts, FMCA, the Escapees RV Club, the Prevost Owners Group, Prevost Community, Converted Coach Owners, and last, but not least, RVillage. We are members of various FMCA chapters and SKP Chapters and BoFs. For a more complete description of our interests see our our RVillage Profile under the name "Bruce and Linda (Omnibus)". Home Town: We were both born and raised in the St. Louis, Missouri area but have lived and worked in S. E. Michigan all of our adult lives. We relocated from a suburb of Detroit to our place in the country in 2013 after we retired and are now located conveniently to Brighton, Hartland, and Howell. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We have enjoyed almost every place we have been. Skills or Expertise to Share: Linda is a very good vegan (whole-food, plant-based) cook. We do a lot of work on our converted coach and Bruce writes articles for Bus Conversion Magazine. He is also the webmaster for four WordPress websites, including our own which features a daily blog if/when Bruce has time to keep it up to date. http://www.omnibus-mi.us/ Bruce is also very involved in photography. We are both licensed Amateur Radio Operators (ham radio).
