Rick & Roberta, retired 2012 beautiful Georgian Triangle area of Ontario. Details: Rick is a long-time Rotarian and now a retired real estate broker, having sold his CENTURY 21 brokerage in 2012. Roberta sold her travel agency in 2006 which she operated for 25 years. Now we enjoy exploring all there is to see in North America and beyond. We highly recommend a visit to Newfoundland where during the summer of 2012 we spent 6 weeks on the island and will have to return sometime to finish the exploration and renew acquaintances with many new friends there. We have enjoyed hosting several Rotary Youth Exchange Students over the years of Rick's tenure in the Thornbury/Clarksburg Rotary Club. See www.tcrotary.ca. Several of the hostings have resulted in life-long friendships resulting in a few visits to their homes in foreign lands, including one wedding. We look forward to meeting new friends as we travel following the suggested trips of boondocking sites listed in the Frugal Shunpiker's Guides. Our home and boondocking site is located about 5 blocks from the public beach in Thornbury. We just didn't want to create the illusion that we live at a shore-front location. We have an alternate site that is about 10 minutes from our permanent home on 7+ acres with great hiking trails from that site. When you contact us we will advise which location we can host you at. Home Town: The Blue Mountains (Thornbury) is located on southern Georgian Bay ( an arm off Lake Huron). The region is designated by the province of Ontario as a "Four Season Recreation Area" due to the largest alpine ski area in the province, fresh-water fishing and swimming, numerous hiking trails, and the well-known 7-mile sand Wasaga Beach (35 km east). Blue Mountain Resorts is only about 10 km from our home. with lots of family activities in the camping season. The Bruce Trail that runs from Niagara Falls to Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula is within a 7-minute drive also. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Throughout Newfoundland, Arizona in the hill country south of Sedona and east of Phoenix, in the mountains of British Columbia on former logging campsites. In 2019 we traveled with our RV to Alaska with another couple who had their own rig. We were gone from home for almost 3 months. Skills or Expertise to Share: Rick is a licensed electrician and handy with mechanical repairs. Rick & Roberta have been active with volunteerism with several different organizations i.e. United Way, Canadian Cancer Society as fund raisers and volunteer drivers, ShelterBox (disaster relief organization).

R & R (and their daughter and soon to be son inlaw)are amazing hosts. They shared their wonderful quiet and beautiful location with us and another BW guest at the same time. We had a fine time talking travels, places and everything in-between. We wish them the safest travels and hope to meet again someday.

Had a very good stay with our generous hosts. R helped "level" our rig in the driveway. They shared their trip they took to Newfee with us. Good info for planning. We'd recommend a stay with R&R.

Every once in a while you meet a couple where there is an instant connection. Our hosts could not have done more for us. We were provided with water and electricity and invited for a shared dinner. Because we had a short journey to our next destination we were given a tour of the Blue Mountain area. What a wonderful experience. Would love to live here. We hope to meet our hosts somewhere in our future travels.
