Situated 3 miles from the Mexican border, (about 5 miles to drive) in the village of Columbus. We have a long circle drive with plenty of room. Our property overlooks Mexico with views in excess of 30 miles. The skies are amazing from sunrise till the starry night. Suggested Local Attractions:Columbus has a few cafes with authentic Mexican food, Desert Artistas Gallery (all local creations from the borderland), a post office, American Legion, Dollar General, Family Dollar, a small grocery store and a gas station. For a series of virtual tours of the local area, visit our 360 Drives YouTube channel. These videos let you look in any direction by just dragging the image. https://youtube.com/channel/UCsaQDOjixBhwmCOAd47YaTg The town on the Mexican side is Puerto Palomas. It's a quiet border town with a (usually) quick crossing. Many nice inexpensive restaurants, optometrists, dentists, farmacias and shops to explore. Many come just for the affordable dental care & glasses. We have personally gotten glasses (exam, frames, progressive bifocal, transitions lenses and anti-reflective coating) for $150.

No arrivals after sundown due to vehicle hazards. Be aware of your surroundings. This is a desert environment and there are plenty of things that can poke and bite. Stumbling into a cactus can be quite painful as well as stepping on one wearing sandals. Watch where you step if you're out wandering the landscape and you'll be fine. Rattlesnakes and coyotes are seen in the area, so keep your pets on leash and kids supervised. We have satellite internet out here, and due to the cost we ask for the $5/day wifi. Verizon has a strong 5G signal. T-Mobile & at&t service is limited. Leave no trace. Well behaved kids welcome. 420 friendly. 🌈 Welcome.

Very friendly host! Dan greeted me upon arrival, showed me the space options, and let me know of some local entertainment, including right over the border in Mexico. He was also out and about the next morning to advise with weather, etc. This is a great place for a stopover and for a vacation.

Dan’s communications were great, always quick responses. Parking was level with an option of spaces. Dan shared interesting knowledge of military history of the area the my husband and I really enjoyed! Even offered fresh eggs from his chickens!!

What a wonderful place to spend some time! Dan and Karen are a great couple and very active in their community. We enjoyed our dinner with them in Mexico. Dan "told" us we were staying longer because of wind warnings, and we appreciated that!

Loved the fact that we didn’t need to unhook tow car because it was a quick stay. Very pretty decorated property and quiet, which we needed! Helpful and friendly host. Wish we could have visited long, would definitely stay again.
