We are located on the Northeast Cape Fear River at a depth of about 30'. We are currently living in our camper on the property due to the flooding after Hurricane Florence. RV living is a way of life that we're really starting to love and we want to be able to share our home with others. Depending on where you park you may have access to water, sewer and electric. Let us know your needs and we will do what we can to accommodate. We offer great views, good fishing and a dock to swim from or to tie off a boat, canoe or kayak. There is a very nice boat launch just a few minutes by both car and boat. We have a bonfire ring and use it frequently and would love for you to join us. We have 1 older dog that we generally allow off leash but with very little effort can keep her contained for your stay. We also have several deer that frequent our runoff gully most mornings as well as other wildlife in the area. On clear nights a sighting of the Milky Way is not uncommon. We are quite far out in the country so cell phone and internet service can be bad. I have Verizon and can get cell service in most places on the property but it is not 100% reliable. Suggested Local Attractions:The local beaches at Topsail Island and Historic Downtown Wilmington are each about a 40 minute drive from our location.

Location

Access Road Conditions: We live about a mile down a dirt road that is two and a half cars wide so maneuverability shouldn't be a problem, just take it slow. There is also a loop at the bottom of the road so turning around is a breeze. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: We have plenty of space on the property or you can park along the road if it is easier for you to park there. The lot is large and there are multiple spots to park depending on the size of the rig, that said, backing your rig is necessary if you are wanting the water and electric hookups.

River front adventure Details: We are currently living in a camper due to the flooding after Hurricane Florence and have really started to fall in love with the RV lifestyle. We are currently unable to travel but in the next year we would like to start to take 2 to 3 trips a year across the country. My husband and I would travel with 3 young children and sometimes our 1 older dog and take advantage of our ability to take our house with us where ever we go. Home Town: We live on the Northeast Cape Fear River and call Burgaw, NC home. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We have only boondocked on emergency and did it on a whim. We evacuated from Burgaw, NC during Hurricane Florence and boondocked in two Walmart Parking lots in Virginia and North Carolina. Both locations we were able to meet both fellow evacuees and linemen waiting to go in to help restore power. Maybe not the greatest of circumstances but we met some great people. Skills or Expertise to Share: I am a full time accountant and tax preparer and my husband is the property manager for our rental properties. Between the two of us we can build anything and report it properly to the IRS. Beginning to end.

This family is so kind and generous! Our kids had a wonderful time playing with their girls. The amount of outdoor toys they had for kids was a hit with mine. They freely shared everything of theirs. 😊 We visited over a bonfire one night too. There is a loop for turnaround on their street if necessary. The area we stayed was pretty level! The location is about 40 min from the beach, so we visited the beach one day and that was nice. The internet was very spotty but the cell connections were ok. Overall we had a great stay! Thank you guys!!

I had a quiet, relaxing stay at the host on the river. Met some other boondockers, played music by the fire. The hosts, their children and grandma were a delight to meet and get to know. I hope to come back!

Beautiful and generous family that opens up their property to strangers - that then become friends. Looking forward to visiting again in the future to see how your not so “tiny” home grows! Thank you again!

Lauren was super quick to respond to my request and say, "Access to the property is good; there are a few low-hanging trees on the road back, but you'll make it no problem." Matthew and Lauren are super friendly, kids are cute, dog and cat are friendly; I will definitely be stopping over to say hello if I head through your part of the country again! Matthew is so handy he should be working for NASA. Just don't forget the T-REX tape! :-) Thanks for everything; my stay was very enjoyable, and I was able to get a lot done. FYI Verizon Internet fights over two towers of about equal distance in different directions and cannot stabilize without an external antenna, when speeds are 10x3MB. ATT is decent and stable at 10x5MB on the Nighthawk.

we had a fantastic stay with Matt, Lauren and family. we had organised to stay for 3 days but extended our visit. Matt is a brains trust in everything RV so he helped us navigate around our new camper. Lauren and the kidlets are super sweet, and you cant help but like this family and enjoy the company. we really appreciate you guys allowing us to stay on your beautiful property. safe travels ✌️❣️
