Please make sure that your bio and profile pic are completed before requesting a stay. Enjoy a bit of old Florida. We live on an acre in a rural area that is close to I-75 and depending on the wind/weather you may hear some traffic noise. Our neighborhood is surrounded by county owned preserves that lend to biking, hiking, and scenic walks. Ideal for nature lovers and those that want a break from the city life. We have a small canal at the back of our property that flows into the wild and scenic Myakka River. As with all bodies of water in Florida, we see alligators from time to time. If you are traveling with pets, they need to be leashed while outdoors. This location may not be suitable for small children due to wildlife and water access. Suggested Local Attractions: We are 15 minutes from Historic downtown Venice and three beaches, Casperson, Venice, and Nokomis. The Legacy bike trail is within biking or driving distance. There are many restaurants to choose from and bi-monthly concerts at the Gazebo in downtown Venice. We are 30 minutes from Sarasota and the famous Siesta Key Beach.

We are local to Venice, as our hosts are, and wanted a change of scenery and an opportunity to meet some locals. We had such a good time talking for hours and they even took us for a tour of the local preserve. The property was perfect to relax under the oaks… We look forward to visiting them when they come to the Beach side of Venice!

This was a peaceful night's stay. Since our total length (trailer + truck) was over the 25 ft limit, we took a little longer to back into the spot, but the spot itself accommodated our rig with room to spare. Steve and Terry were gracious hosts, delaying their own plans to help us back in, and checking that everything was alright when they returned. I believe the spot is best suited to a Class B or B+ in terms of ease of getting settled, but the beautiful setting by the Myakka River -- with water and power -- can't be beat! Thank you to Terry and Steve for hosting!
