House Rules

We prefer no smoking. Children are fine though we have don't have specific play space for kids. Prefer no generators as we can provide a 15 amp hookup. We'll likely ask you to park on the left part of the driveway such that we have access to our vehicles.

Location

Driveway has a slight slant, ignored by most campers but easily adjusted with your blocking. A short trailers is fine as long as you're good at backing it up around a couple bends to get back to the street. Trailers can be parked on the street as well.

My wife Carol and I are avid travelers, both in the U.S. and abroad. We especially like road trips, U.S. national parks, local food anywhere, old fashioned towns, camping in our campervan or in a tent, busy Asian cities, and discovering new places. We've been to 50-some countries and all 50 U.S. states We are both pilots and own and fly a vintage Cessna 172. I am retired from university teaching, and Carol is a Physician Assistant. Home Town: La Crosse, Wisconsin, along the Mississippi River, in the beautiful "Driftless" region of the Upper Midwest. Favorite Boondocking Locations: City side streets, hospital parking lots, small airports (really), along the railroad tracks, any place where folks don't care that you're there. Skills or Expertise to Share: General mechanical skills, navigation, conversation, good at cutting firewood.

A great first experience with Boondockers Welcome!!! Hosts were very quick to respond to our communictions and extremely flexible with our schedule of graduation festivities at a local college. Their historic neighborhood is beautiful and traffic was light during our stay. Hosts welcomed us upon arrival and supplied us with 15 amp service. Very enjoyable conversation and very gracious! Slight slant on concrete driveway, but we felt it was fine and no need for blocks for our rig. Perfect location, gracious hosts!!
