Our home is located in rural Iowa just 30 minutes from downtown Des Moines. Located between Polk City and Sheldahl. You are welcome to use our firepit & firewood. We have a fenced in back yard or your pet can run off leash. We just installed a new 30 amp RV outlet in 2024. Across the road is the High Trestle Trail, a 25 mile paved bike path. Very close by is Big Creek State Park (2.5 miles) where you can hike, fish, disc golf, bike the 27-mile Neil Smith Trail, swim at the beach, rent kayaks, paddle boards, pontoon boats and bikes. Saylorville Lake Marina (5 miles) is great for boating and jet skiing. Jester Park (10.4 miles) you can see the elk & bison herds. They have an 18-hole championship course, 9-hole Par 3 course, learning & practice facility, an 18-hole miniature golf course, equestrian center, hiking trails, nature center, fishing, and more.

Location

We have a very large and wide driveway. When you pull into the drive it is gravel. You will park in front of the detached garage which is pavement. There is a new 30 amp hook up on the side of the garage. There is plenty of room for a tow vehicle too.

My husband of 30+ years and I are retired and love to travel. We feel comfortable in a nice resort but feel at home in nature. We are very respectful of other people's property, privacy and opinions. We like to hike, bike, boat, swim, socialize and see the local sights during the day then relax and maybe have a drink at the end of the day. We are Midwest Nice.

The location is right on the High Trestle Trsil. Tonya was so friendly and very gracious when I told her I broke a branch on their tree when I was turning around. I was offered use of the front patio, front picnic table, and backyard firepit INCLUDING the firewood. Be aware the plug is the 30 amp locking plug. i would highly recomend this stay for anyone and I would love to return someday.
