Age:

55-65

My wife, Deanna, and I are a retired military couple. I served 26+ years in the military, 10 in the US Navy & 16 in the US Army. Deanna has worked as a government contractor, creating and teaching training for military family programs. When I retired from the US Army, we moved back to the family farm I grew up on. 800+ acres in southwestern Pennsylvania. We have cabins that we rent out on Airbnb, hiking trails, primitive campsites, & host boondockers. We also have a venue for small, intimate, country weddings. We are fortunate to have 3 of our 4 children, with their spouses, living on the farm as well. We love hosting guests on the farm and enjoy traveling ourselves. We hope to see you soon, Shane & Deanna Cole Cole's Greene Acres Farm

The Coles were very welcoming. On arrival, we met 4 generations of the Coles. All services are available if needed, showers and laundry (coming soon we hear). Lots of history on this site. Lots of stories as well if you have a chance to spend some time with the hosts. We are very happy with our stay at the Coles.

We only stayed one night but it was a great syat1. Our host Shane was very communicative and welcomed us on arrival. Lots of amenities we did not have to take advantage of such as the fire pit and hiking trails. They have a playground but our only 'child' is a dog who was also welcome. Cole's is ready to assist you with extra lengths of sewer hose and a 30A adapter for their 50A power source. We were lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature. Remember that you're way out in the rural hills; no cell service. Shane gave us great directions and we did not pay enough attention and had to turn around down the road. Please follow his directions closely. The new bath house was great and will soon include a washer & dryer. If you want a stay off the beaten path, this is it.

Because of an accident, we were unable to stay at The Point. they were very understanding when I called them and explained.

For reference: We Alaskans in a 38" class A towing a car and used to sketchy roads and areas of no service. If you aren't used to winding, hilly, very narrow and single lane roads you might want to choose another place. That said, the setting was beautiful, the hiking amazing, and the shower/bathroom still is being renovated but was a welcome reprieve from using our RV one. Other reviewers were serious--there is no service or internet. All in all, a fun trip and nice stay!

we enjoyed our stay at the Cole’s. The area is very quiet so great setting for a good night’s sleep. Thete is a new shower room that is available for use. Renovation is not fully done but it is a vreat set up. we were also offered access to the most beautiful fire pit we’ve seen. The owner Shane helped to get hooked up. Nice guy! there is no signal so down’oad the sdress before leaving the highway. the distance for us was the only negative point. all in all it is a good place. oh and the fresh eggs. 😊
