We had a situation where we had to evacuate our campsite at a state park near Gloucester due to Tropical Storm Ophelia. The park was closing and we had to be out by 8 p.m. but did not find out until 6 p.m. that evening. After a full day at Colonial Williamsburg, my husband and I were tired, but knew we needed to get as far inland as possible. I checked Harvest Hosts and found Welker's Wayside Stop. Todd was very understanding and accommodating. He even waited up for us until we arrived after 10 p,m, to make sure we were situated in the best spot for our camper and had everything we needed. He also offered to let us stay longer until we could make other arrangements. He was leaving the next day for his own camping trip, but he texted while he was gone to check on us to make sure we were comfortable and didn't need anything. The property is beautiful and accessible to town and the battlefields. Todd has a list of local sites and stores that he put together which was very helpful. There was even a fat little groundhog and a squirrel chasing each other in the backyard that kept me entertained while I was working in the camper. Thanks, Todd, for making a scary situation much better and providing two tired campers a safe place to wait out the storm.

Todd and Gunner were wonderful hosts. Spot is level with lots of sun for our solar. Only a mile to great battlefield hiking and history. There is traffic noise during the day, but the nights are quiet. We would definitely visit again when in the area.

Todd was a great host and we enjoyed meeting him. It's obvious he enjoys hosting. Spot was level and easy to access. The parking and entrance VIDEO was very helpful. The only thing I didn’t like is that he is on a busy road. Otherwise, a great place to stay.

Mr. Welker was a great host providing water and electric, which was great considering it was Sumer time. He was great to talk to and with and super accommodating. We will visit him again next time we come to Fredericksburg.

You will not find a more gracious, helpful host. OMG. Todd is pure gold. The spot is clean, easy access, spacious and quiet. He loves the lifestyle and is more than willing to assist you. He gave me lessons on how to open my awning. I did it multiple times and he even recorded it for me! I have stayed twice and will definitely stay again because I pass by that way often. Thanks for everything, Todd 😊
