We live in the Smoky Mountains. We are surrounded by trees, lots of trees. Living in the Forest is a beautiful setting, however it has its downside. We have bears, Lynx cats, Panthers and snakes. The bears and snakes are more visible, the cats are rarely seen but heard and plenty of bugs. It’s a Forest. We have a small piece of property here and our van fits fine. We will move our van forward so yours will have a place to sit that’s level. We aren’t far from the national park, Gatlinburg is about 20 miles.

House Rules
Class B rv’s only. No aggressive animals.
Location
The road to our property is narrow and you’ll need to move over for passing and that can be difficult in some places. When following your navigation, be sure to go slight left when it tells you to, and not go straight, straight takes you further up on the mountain and you’ll have a very difficult time trying to get turned around.

Retired Couple Details: We enjoy hiking but also love to sit by the lake/ocean to day dream and just relax. Home Town: Cosby, TN We have a one acre piece of land in the Smokies where we built a tiny house, while living in our class B van for a year. We are currently in the process of building a small log house as our main home on the property as well. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We don't do a lot of boondocking at this time due to building our home. We have stayed at several places in past years and have enjoyed meeting some really great host. Since taking on the task of building our home here, we haven't had much time to travel. Skills or Expertise to Share: A few of my hobbies are yogurt making and handmade soaps. I quilt a bit, crochet a little, love to bake. We enjoy building our own homes together altho its getting harder for me but hubby still goes like the energizer bunny.

Fred & Mary Kay were lovely hosts! They gave clear directions, so I felt prepared when driving to their property on the narrow winding road. They were on site to greet me and made sure I got situated. It was a cold night so I gladly accepted their offer for electrical hookup to run my heater. I went for a nice walk around the neighborhood loop before getting behind the wheel again the next morning. Thanks so much Fred & Mary Kay and good luck with your homebuilding project!

Our stay was brief as we arrived at dusk and left at first light to get back on our journey. Hosts were there to greet us and welcome us to their nice home and level RV pad. It was a great stop for us on our travels. Thanks Mary Kay and Fred!

Nice hosts, who were also knowledgeable and helpful about camper van. Enjoyed chatting by campfire and sipping cinnamon tea. Road is mountain curvy.
