Beautiful night sky. You can touch the Milky Way. Thanks to a recent road improvement project we inherited hundreds of tons of asphalt slag from a couple of miles of resurfaced Hwy. Caltrans loss is your gain. Two acres of hard packed and steam rolled asphalt, perfect for a travelers rest stop. It ain't pretty, but the price is right.. Pull up a chair, take your shoes off, rest easy. Suggested Local Attractions: Joshua Tree National Park, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Tortoise Rock Casino, Twentynine Palms Old School House Museum, Road Runner Golf Course. Half way between Los Angeles and the Colorado River.

Access Road Conditions: 2 Acre asphalt parking/camping area. Access on well maintained gravel dirt road. Less than 100 yards off State Hwy 62. Huge turn around. A great spot for the weary traveler to stop for a night or two. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Park next to your rig.

Great place to boondock. Close to town and attractions like The Joshua Tree National Forest. The owners of Wonder Why were really nice and even came out to introduce themselves and also say goodbye. I recommend this place anytime.

The HH was just as advertised. Parking was flat, level and on asphalt. There were three RVs there during our stay and we all fit with room for more. Easy access to Joshua Tree park and town for supplies.

Dan & Fay are a super nice couple. we were able to leave our rig and explore the area woth no worries. This is a perfect spot for exploring Joshua Tree National Park and to experience desert life. We stayed 3 days and they offered to let us stay longer be ause the wind was so bad the day we we’re leaving. We really enjoyed our stay !

We made a same day request and it was accepted almost immediately. We were originally going to stay 3 nights but decided to leave early and head further west to stay at a winery. Owner met us in the parking lot and was super friendly and gave us suggestions on where to park. Beautiful sunrise from our bedroom window!
