We are located in a rural area on a secluded 10 acre wooded homestead just a few miles from I-95, I-64 and I-295. Nestled between farms, and behind a country church, you couldn’t find a quieter spot. We have one shady camp site located under large oak trees and offer a picnic table and wooded walking trails. You can hookup water, and if pre-arranged, we have both a 20 amp and a 30/50 amp outlet within 90' and can assist with some extension cords (75’ cord for 20 amp and 25’ cord for 30/50 amp). [Note: Most people don't carry 75' of 30/50 A cable, but 20A has run many an AC unit here.] Entertainment, shopping, restaurants, wineries, and breweries are within 15-20 minutes. Ashland is a quaint “train town” and worth a visit. Richmond was the capital of the south and has a lot of Civil War historical sites. We can provide you a list of historic sites, museums, shopping, and resturants if you request.

Location

Our paved driveway extends ¼ mile off the road to our home where there is adequate space to perform a 3 point turn to get turned around. There is room for vehicle parking in front of the campsite. The campsite is on the right as you approach our detached garage. The campsite is natural woodland on compacted clay, with gravel covering the camp area. RV's can pull right in while trailers will want to turn around and back in. Please note that there is a slight incline leading into the site so you may need to back into the spot at an angle if you have low clearance at the back.

Renee and Bruce enjoy traveling these great United States, and also internationally yet call central Virginia home. We are also Hosts in BW. God blessed us with a daughter and 2 grandchildren which is why we keep returning to Virginia. We’ve tent camped most our lives, then in 2015 we fell in love with the sport of 4 wheeling and upgraded to camping in the enclosed cargo trailer our ATV's were in. Spring of 2020 Bruce retired from a career in IT Project Management (cyber security and critical infrastructure) and we got back into RVing with a Class A coach and now travel about 50% of the time. We love exploring the great outdoors especially when doing it with our 2 1/2 year old Yellow Lab Charlie. She is super friendly and very well-behaved. We enjoy biking, hiking, the ocean, water sports like boating, kayaking, scuba diving, and even occasional snow skiing. Renee loves to craft and Bruce tries to fix anything broken as his prior career in Instrumentation and Process Controls at a Nuclear power plant has provided the experience to work on all kinds of equipment. We enjoy meeting new people while also respecting the privacy and property of camp hosts.

Bruce and Renee are gracious hosts. Good directions and photos of their environment. Speed test Cellular signal was 45 Mbps download/1.38 Mbps upload. Their place is beautiful, quiet, clean with electric and water. Was very blessed to them as our 1st host.

There's nothing more to say than it's a magic place to stay. You're under the trees in a peaceful place. The hosts are most welcoming. It's our favorite stay so far!

Bruce & Renee have an impeccably neat little homestead. Explicit instructions made it easy to find their beautiful blacktop driveway entry. Slight incline to back up onto gravel parking pad. Bruce very helpful to guide you in - back further for best level spot.
